Our core competence is the ability to solve very hard optimization problems via a unique technology built upon decades of research. Our technology can solve optimization problems faster and better than current methods across multiple industries, ranging from Pharma to Logistics, Finance to Defence.

  • Algorithm Open-Innovation - Satalia supports open-innovation. We have created an open-marketplace for optimization algorithms, encouraging contributors (from academia and industry) to submit their innovations for inclusion in our engines.

Management

Anthony Finkelstein, Scientific Officer

Anthony is Dean of Engineering Sciences and Professor of Software Systems Engineering at UCL, a world leading research university, working in the broad field of software systems engineering. Anthony has provided consultancy advice to a large number of high profile companies and to universities on the organization of their information services. He was Founder and Director of Systemwire Ltd., a UCL spin-out acquired by trade sale in 2006 and he is also consultant Chief Scientist of Message Automation Ltd.

Daniel J Hulme, Chief Executive Officer

Daniel founded Satalia in 2008 and was one of the principal architects in designing and implementing the core technologies behind Satalia's new business model. Daniel has an Masters and Doctorate in Computational Complexity from UCL. Daniel holds an international Kauffman Global Entrepreneur Scholarship and actively promotes entrepreneurship and technology innovation in the UK and US.

Alastair Moore, Operations Officer

Alastair co-founded Satalia whilst studying under the CSEL program at London Business School. Alastair holds a doctorate in Machine Learning at UCL, a masters degrees from Kings College London and the London School of Economics (LSE).

Marina Santilli, Development Officer

Marina Santilli is a professional with 14+ years experience of new product development, people and project management, originally applied within the telecoms sector (BT, MFS and WorldCom/MCI) during the explosion of high bandwidth network and services in the 1990s. As Director of Product Development, Marina led an international team to develop and implement leading edge data products and services for MCI globally. In 2007, Marina joined UCL Business to support and manage the commercialization of all Intellectual Property generated in the Department of Computer Science.

Advisory Board

Nicolas Courtois, Scientific Advisor

Nicolas Courtois is a cryptographer and a senior lecturer in computer science at University College London. Nicolas was one of the co-authors of both the XSL attack against block ciphers such as the Advanced Encryption Standard and the XL system for solving systems of algebraic equations, used in the attack. Other cryptographic results of Nicolas include algebraic attacks on stream ciphers, attacks on the KeeLoq and Hitag 2 systems used for remote keyless automobile entry systems, and an analysis of cryptographic weaknesses in public transit smart cards including the London Underground Oyster card and the Dutch OV-chipkaart. Nicolas graduated from University of Paris VI: Pierre et Marie Curie, where he got his doctoral degree in cryptography.

Gary Gerttula, Business Development

Gary is a senior international general manager with P&L experience managing all functional areas, having planned and executed successful turn around strategies and led international expansions. Gary has extensive expertise in business development, new ventures and revenue growth. Gary has negotiated and closed over 30 deals totalling in excess of $300 million including mergers and acquisitions. Gary has an MBA from Harvard University.

Vishal Kapoor, VP Marketing @ Cadence

A Professional with 20+ years of demonstrated results in marketing, product management, corporate planning and strategy, sales and engineering. Data-driven, bottom-line focused with success in delivering enterprise-level hardware and software solutions. Vishal has demonstrated ability to size new markets and identify market trends.

Brian Mellea, Product Development & Marketing

Brian Mellea has 19+ years of high tech marketing, business development and product development experience first gained at three Fortune 500 companies (IBM, Apple and Parametric). Brian has led consumer, government, and enterprise product and outbound marketing across a number of companies. He has provided operational leadership on cross company problems for established companies and provided startup and funding services to several new companies. Brian has a BS in Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a MS from MIT. Brian has an MBA from Harvard University.

Christian Nentwich, CEO @ Model Two Zero

A Computer Scientist with 22+ years experience in software engineering, including 7 years in automation in financial services, founding the Validation Working Group of FpML for ISDA in 2003. Serial entrepreneur, Christian's company Model Two Zero advises customers on technology for OTC derivatives data and processes, large scale data models, model-driven architecture, ? creating and managing internal standards.

Jarett Nixon, Corporate Counsel @ Cisco

A Professional with 8+ years experience in Legal and Sales. Works with business and finance teams to build and develop strategic relationships with partners; coaches and advises on negotiation strategy; drafts and negotiates domestic and international distribution agreements. Jarett currently works with business units to design go-to-market strategies for Cisco advanced and emerging technologies.

Mona Sabet, Business, VP Legal and Corporate Counsel @ Coverity

A professional with 15+ years of experience practising law in the United States and Canada. Mona has oversight and management responsibility for all legal and regulatory matters for Coverity worldwide. Mona joined Coverity from Cadence Design Systems where she was VP, Associate General Counsel. At Cadence, Mona served as Director of Intellectual Property where she directs and manages all aspects of the company's intellectual property strategy and portfolio, and provides strategic guidance to Cadence's executive management on the use of intellectual property in support of its business.
