As streaming services continue to rise in popularity, high street cinema chains must innovate to stay relevant. To focus their future investments, Odeon chose Satalia to conduct a sales driver analysis — using data science to identify the aspects of the customer experience that had the greatest impact on revenue.

Solution

First, we combined machine learning with survey, transactional and geographical data sets to predict the quality of a customer’s experience. Then, using novel data science techniques, we assessed the impact and relative influence of various factors such as weather, store layout, product range, store location, proximity of competitors and seasonality on the quality of customer experience.
